Overview
Cheng Han was a dynastic state in China, listed as one of the Sixteen Kingdoms in Chinese historiography. Founded in 304 (or 303) and dissolved in 347, its capital was at Chengdu. The state was ruled by the Li clan of the Ba-Di people, with its territory based in modern-day Sichuan Province. The name Cheng Han collectively refers to the state of Cheng (or Dacheng), founded by Li Xiong in 304, and the state of Han, founded by Li Shou in 338. It is also sometimes known as Later Shu.
