Overview
The Duchy of Sandomierz was a Polish district principality and fiefdom that existed from 1138 to 1320. It was formed from territories of the Kingdom of Poland following the fragmentation initiated by the testament of Bolesław III Wrymouth. The duchy's capital was the city of Sandomierz, and its territory was centered around Sandomierz Land in southeastern Poland, situated between the Pilica, Vistula, San, and Dunajec rivers. In 1320, the Duchy of Sandomierz was incorporated back into the Kingdom of Poland.
