Overview
The Early Lý dynasty, also known as the Former Lý or Anterior Lý dynasty, was a Vietnamese dynasty that existed from 544 CE to 602 CE. Officially named Vạn Xuân or Nam Việt, it was founded by Lý Bí, who took the title "Emperor of Southern Việt," later shortened to "Southern Emperor" (Lý Nam Đế). The capital of the Early Lý dynasty was located at Long Biên, in what is now Hanoi.
