Overview
The Beylik of Hamid, also known as the Hamidids, was a Turkish beylik in Anatolia during the 14th century. Founded around 1280 by Dündar Bey, it emerged following the decline of the Sultanate of Rum. The beylik ruled in the regions around Eğirdir and Isparta in southwestern Anatolia. Its founders, including Dündar Bey's father Ilyas and grandfather Hamid, had served as frontier rulers under the Seljuks. The Beylik of Hamid was eventually annexed by the Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I in 1391, with its territory becoming the Ottoman Sanjak of Hamid.
