Overview
The Chobanids, also known as the Chupanids, were a former country that emerged in 14th-century Persia. Descendants of a Mongol family from the Suldus clan, they initially served under the Ilkhans. Following the fall of the Ilkhanate, the Chobanids gained de facto control of the territory, ruling over Azerbaijan, Arrān, parts of Asia Minor, Mesopotamia, and west-central Persia. Founded in 1335 CE, this entity dissolved in 1357 CE.
