Overview
The Cisalpine Republic was a French client republic in Northern Italy, existing from 1797 to 1802. Founded on June 29, 1797, it was considered a sister republic of France. The republic had a first version from 1797 to 1799, and a second version until its dissolution on January 25, 1802.
