Overview
The Duchy of Anhalt was a historical German duchy that existed from 1863 to 1918. Located between the Harz Mountains in the west and the River Elbe and Fläming Heath in the east, its territory is now part of the German federal state of Saxony-Anhalt. The duchy was once ruled by the House of Ascania.
