Overview
The Duchy of Styria was a historical duchy situated in what is now southern Austria and northern Slovenia. Founded in 1180 CE, it existed as a state within the Holy Roman Empire until the Empire's dissolution in 1806. Subsequently, it became a Cisleithanian crown land of Austria-Hungary. The Duchy of Styria was ultimately dissolved in 1918.
