The Duchy of Tuscia, also initially known as the Duchy of Lucca, was a Lombard duchy in Central Italy. Founded around 574 CE, it included much of present-day Tuscany and flourished after the Lombards occupied Byzantine territories. Its capital was Lucca, a city located along the Via Francigena, which also served as the residence for its dukes. The duchy, which also included Florence among its centers, dissolved around 774 CE.
