Overview
The Eastern Wei was an imperial dynasty of China that existed from 534 to 550 AD. It emerged after the disintegration of the Northern Wei dynasty and ruled the eastern part of northern China during the Northern and Southern dynasties period. The ruling family of the Eastern Wei, like that of the Northern Wei, belonged to the Tuoba clan of the Xianbei.
