Overview
The Former Shu, also known as Great Shu or Wang Shu, was a dynastic state in China during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Founded in 907 CE, it was one of the Ten Kingdoms of 10th-century China, centered on Sichuan. The state existed until its dissolution in 925 CE. Its name briefly changed from "Shu" to "Han" between 917 and 918, a detail that distinguishes it from the contemporaneous Southern Han kingdom.
